Every brand has a mint that the regulars treat as the house can, and for Cuba White this is the one. Cuba White Ice Spearmint is the spearmint on Cuba's White rung, the brand's 10.4mg line, made in Poland by Nicotobacco, the factory behind the whole Cuba range. White is the lighter end of Cuba, same slim white pouch as the Black line, a number that gets you through the day. The name tells you most of it: spearmint, with the ice turned up. Here's the thing. It is a mint can first and a cold can second, and the two get on well.
Sweet spearmint with the frost turned up
Pop one in and the spearmint lands first, the green, slightly sweet sort you get from a packet of chewing gum at the till, and then the cold rolls in behind it and stays. It is cooling rather than sharp, a frost over the gum instead of a bite, and the sweetness in the spearmint keeps the whole thing smooth.
