Raspberry, the soft red fruit in Cuba White
There is a raspberry can on nearly every shelf, and this is Cuba's. Cuba White Raspberry is the raspberry can in Cuba's White line, the brand's 10.4mg line, made in Poland by Nicotobacco, the factory behind every Cuba. White is the lighter end of the brand, same slim white pouch as the Black shelf, with a number that goes the distance. The maker calls it ripe raspberries, sweet and slightly tart, and that is about right. Cuba fruit tends to be bold, and this one keeps the boldness but softens the edges. Fair play to it.
Ripe raspberries, sweet first, tart at the finish
Pop one in and it is raspberry straight away, the sweet, slightly tart taste of a punnet from the farm shop in July, eaten in the car park before you get home. It opens on the sweet side, holds a full, jammy raspberry through the middle of the load, and lets the tartness through at the end, which keeps it fresh rather than sugary. The finish is clean with a little sharp note left on the gum. No mint, no cream, no second fruit. Just raspberry, and plenty of it. Proper.
