Arasaka, the apricot can at the top of the Iceberg shelf
Ask what Arasaka actually is and the answer is simpler than the name suggests: apricot. Sweet apricot, in a 56mg pouch, from the Ultra line, which Iceberg describes as its top line. The brand comes from Iceberg Tobacco, a Warsaw company, and the Ultra cans are the ones it puts at the summit of its ladder, above Light, Medium, Strong and Extreme. The lid is black, with ULTRA across the top, a polygon bear head over the ICEBERG wordmark and orange flames around the lower half. Nobody has explained the name, and the can is not bothered. It is apricot and it is strong. No messing about.
Apricot that stays apricot from first pouch to last
Pop one in and the apricot arrives sweet and ripe rather than sharp, the taste of the dried apricots in a bag from the newsagent, only softer and juicier. There is a little mixed fruit around the edges, but apricot leads the whole way and never hands over. The sweetness holds steady through the load, so the last pouch tastes like the first. Behind all that the 56mg makes itself known early and keeps a firm hand on things, which is exactly the point of an Ultra can. Fruit on top, strength underneath, no argument between them. Fair play to it.
