A can of Maggie Summer Fruits 16mg

Summer Fruits, a punnet of berries in a Lite can

Summer Fruits is the soft one in the Maggie Lite line, the mixed berry can at 16mg, and the lid says Lite in green beside the name so you can tell it from the 60 at a glance. It comes in the same yellow can as the rest of the family, red rim, green palm tree, Original Jamaican Pouch printed under the name. Caribbean drinks and dishes give the range its flavour names, and this can is the bowl of berries on the table in July. Tobacco free, slim, white pouches, berries all the way through. Proper.

Mixed berries, jammy and sweet, all the way down

Mixed berries, sweet and ripe, is the plain description. No single berry leads for long, so it tastes the way a summer fruits yoghurt or a bowl of berries with the juice run together does, rounded and a bit jammy rather than sharp. The sweetness arrives straight away and stays level across the load, and there is no mint or cooling to cut across it. It finishes soft and fruity, with the same taste at the last pouch as the first. Fair play to it.

16mg a pouch, the Lite rung of Maggie

The shop lists Summer Fruits at 16mg a pouch, which is the opening number of our strong band, 16mg to 25mg. Maggie's ladder has exactly two rungs: Maggie Lite at 16mg, this can, and Maggie at 60mg, which is in our extreme band. That makes this the lower Maggie by some distance and still a strong can in snus terms, with a steady rather than sudden uptake. Slim white pouches, 20 in the can, and a lid with a compartment for used ones. Here's the thing. Soft fruit, firm number.

Berry regulars and the rung above

This is the can for strong snus users who like berries and want them soft and sweet rather than sharp. If you tend to pick the mixed berry option in any range, Summer Fruits is the obvious Maggie. It also suits anyone trying the brand for the first time who wants the smaller number before anything else. For a darker, sharper berry at the same 16mg, Maggie Mr Blue 16mg is next to it on the shelf. For the brand's top rung, Maggie Cherry Tonic Wine 60mg is the one with cherry and dark grape at 60mg. Give it a go.
