There is a kind of mint that people keep in the glove box for the drive home, and Nordic Spirit Sweet Mint 6mg is that mint in a pouch. It comes from a JTI brand, created in Sweden and launched there in 2018, on UK shelves since 2019, with the pouches now produced in Poland. This is the 6mg can, the bottom of a three rung ladder, with the maker's word Regular on the lid. It belongs to the Moist side of the range, the softer pouch with the quicker flavour release in the maker's words, and the newer Moist cans are a slimmer can. Mint with the edges rounded off.
Fresh mint with the sweet notes turned up
The first thing you get is clean mint freshness, the sort you get from a mint humbug once the shell has gone, and almost straight away the sweet note folds in behind it. Mint first, sugar second, in that order every time. The sweetness never crowds the cool, and the cool never leaves the sweetness behind, so the whole load tastes level. There is a light icy touch to it that lifts the finish. It fades out gently rather than snapping shut. Easy going, and meant to be.
