Pineapple and mango in a Snowman can, 9mg
Tropical Punch is the holiday can on the Snowman shelf, a mix of tropical fruit with pineapple and mango at the front. Snowman is a Tridots brand, and the brand itself says its pouches are manufactured in Denmark. Two lines make up the range, a 9mg Line and a 12mg Line with the same six flavours on each, and this is the tropical one at 9mg, the lower rung. Where Arctic Kick brings the frost, this brings the sun. Odd pairing for a brand named after a snowman, and it works.
Sweet tropical fruit from first pouch to last
It opens sweet and sunny, pineapple leading with mango right behind, like the first spoonful of fruit salad from the hotel breakfast buffet. There is no cooling in it, so the fruit stays warm and rounded on the gum, and the sweetness is layered rather than sugary. It holds steady through the load and the finish is soft. The catalogue calls the 9mg can the softer, more relaxed version of the blend, and that is how it reads. Smooth, balanced, properly fruity.
9mg of nicotine, and the 12mg punch one rung up
Each pouch carries 9mg of nicotine, which sits in our medium band, the one from 8mg to 16mg. Snowman runs two lines and this is the lower of them, marked with three of five dots on the lid. Above it is Tropical Punch 12mg, the same blend in the 12mg Line, and that is the top of the brand's ladder. Slim white pouches, tobacco free, 20 to a can. The uptake is easy and the curve steady, which suits a soft fruit. Medium snus that tastes like somewhere warmer.

For the regular who wants sunshine at 9mg
Tropical Punch 9mg suits anyone who likes a sweet fruit mix at a medium strength, and anyone new to snus who would rather start with fruit than mint. If the blend is right and you want more behind it, Tropical Punch 12mg is the same can on the rung above. Fancy a single fruit instead of a mix? Watermelon Breeze 9mg keeps it to one with a light cool finish, and Raspberry Blast 9mg goes sweet and tangy. Give it a go.
