Zesty Elderflower, the Velo can that tastes of a summer garden
There is always one can on the Velo shelf that makes people stop and read the lid twice, and Zesty Elderflower is it. It comes from the Swedish side of the range, where the maker sold it as Elderflower Spritz before the 2024 rename, and it sits in Velo's Regular Strength line, the 10mg middle rung. Velo is BAT's nicotine pouch brand, and most of its fruit cans are berries and mango. This one is elderflower with a sour lime edge, which puts it in a corner of its own. Here's the thing. It reads like a novelty on the lid and lands like a regular in the mouth.
Elderflower first, then the lime cuts through
Pop the first pouch in and it is the elderflower cordial from a village fete, floral and light, before the lime arrives and sharpens the whole thing up. The sourness is the clever part. Without it the flower would be soft and sweet all the way through, and with it the pouch stays fresh and a little tart from the start of the load to the end. There is no mint in here and no cooling, so the flavour sits warm and bright on the gum. It finishes clean with the lime still in charge. Proper summer in a can, no messing about.
