Shift Hot Spearmint, a warm mint in Velo's six sided can
Spearmint usually arrives cool. This one turns up warm. Shift Hot Spearmint belongs to Velo Shift, the line BAT launched in Sweden in 2025 with a rounded pouch the maker calls its Comfort format, packed in a hexagonal can you will spot in any pocket. Every Shift can is 8mg, and the Hot ones pair their flavour with a warming feel on the gum. Here, that warmth meets spearmint. It is a rare combination on the shelf, and that is exactly the appeal. Fair play to it.
Sweet spearmint, herbal notes, and a gentle glow
The spearmint opens sweet and soft, like the chewing gum in the green packet from the newsagent. Then the herbal side comes through, a fuller, garden mint note, and with it the gentle heat the Hot name promises. It is a glow rather than a burn, sitting right where the pouch sits. Mint on the tongue and warmth on the gum keep each other company for the whole load. The finish is fresh, with the warmth fading last. Proper unusual, in the best way.
8mg a pouch in Velo's Comfort format
Each pouch carries 8mg of nicotine, the opening number of our medium band, 8mg to 16mg. Every can in the Shift line sits at 8mg, which puts the whole family at the top of Velo's Lower Strength line, above the 4mg and 6mg cans and below Regular Strength at 10mg and 10.9mg. Full Strength, 14mg to 17mg, sits above that. The pouches are Shift's rounded Comfort shape, 20 to a can. In snus terms, an everyday number with a flavour that stands out from the crowd.

Mint regulars after a change, and the Shift cans beside it
This is a can for the mint snus regular who fancies a change of temperature, and for anyone curious about the Shift pouch shape. It also suits people who like spearmint's sweeter side and enjoy a flavour with a feeling attached. Want the same Shift pouch with the opposite effect? Velo Shift Cool Peppermint 8mg brings a cooling feel instead. Fancy warmth with fruit? Velo Shift Hot Grape 8mg. Prefer a classic spearmint? Velo Bright Spearmint 8mg. Give it a go.
