Some people want fruit and some people want mint, and then there is the lot who want their snus to taste like the coffee they have just finished. Helwit Mocha 7.5mg is for them. The can says Mocha Extra Strong, the name the maker gives it, and the lid carries the black outer ring with EXTRA STRONG printed all the way round instead of the usual fraction. On our shelf it sits in Helwit's Strong line, the top of the brand's three tiers. YOIK AB makes it at Gransholm, its own plant near Växjö in Småland, and Made in Sweden is printed on the side. Coffee first, then chocolate and caramel behind it
Pop one in and it is coffee straight away, the milky kind from the café by the station rather than a black espresso, with chocolate and caramel following close behind. The three run together into one round, sweet, roasted flavour, and that is what mocha means here. It has more presence than the 4.5mg Mocha, deeper on the coffee, and it stays smooth right through the load. The finish is warm and slow, the caramel hanging around after the coffee has gone. No mint, no fruit, nothing cold. Proper coffee shop in a can.
7.5mg a pouch, Extra Strong on the lid, light on our scale
Every pouch carries 7.5mg of nicotine, which keeps it in our light band, 1mg to 8mg, towards the top of it. On Helwit's own ladder it sits in the Strong line, the third of three after Standard at 3.5mg and Regular at 4.5mg, and the Strong cans run from 6mg to 9mg.
