Ask the regulars which Pablo they reach for first thing in the morning and Mocca gets a few nods. Pablo Exclusive Mocca is the coffee flavour from Pablo's Exclusive line, the 30mg line that sits at the top of the Danish brand's range. Exclusive is mostly fruit and mint, so Mocca is one of the few cans in it that goes dark and roasted instead. Here's the thing. A coffee flavour at the top number is not common, and this one is built to match the strength rather than hide behind it. Proper coffee, proper Pablo.
Dark roast coffee with a sweet, chocolatey edge
Pop one in and the coffee is there straight away, roasted and deep, the way a mocha from the cafe by the station tastes once the froth has gone. There is a sweet cocoa note sitting under it that rounds things off, and a bitter edge on top that keeps it honest. The flavour fills the load quickly and stays put from the first pouch to the last. The finish is long and roasted, with the sweetness lingering a little behind the coffee. No fruit, no mint, no messing about.
30mg a pouch: the strongest coffee on Pablo's shelf
Each pouch carries 30mg of nicotine. On our scale that is the extreme band, 25mg and up, and it is the fifth and highest rung on Pablo's ladder. The lines run 6mg Edition at the bottom, Silver Edition at 10.15mg, Gold Edition at 17mg, Original at 24mg and Exclusive here at 30mg. There is no coffee can in any of the lower lines, so this is the only Mocca Pablo makes on our shelf. The pouches are slim and white, 20 to a can, with a quick uptake and a curve that climbs early.
