The newest name on SNU's shelf, in a blue and red can
Fizzy Energy is the latest flavour SNU has added, and it leads the brand's own home page, so it has arrived with a bit of a fanfare. This is the 9mg version, from the line SNU calls Low, the first of its four strengths. The can itself is white, banded in blue, with the lettering in red, the lid spells the brand SNÜ, and the tab beside the name reads 9MG PER POUCH with two dots filled in out of six. Here's the thing about the name. It describes a taste, the taste of a classic energy drink from the newsagent's chiller, and that is all it describes. What you get is a sharp, sweet, fizzy flavour in a slim snus pouch. No messing about.
Sharp, sweet and sparkling, like the can just cracked open
Crack open an energy drink on the platform while you wait for the last train and sniff the top of the can. That bright, slightly sour, sugary smell is this pouch's opening. The sweetness comes first and it is a big one, then the tang arrives behind it and gives the whole thing a sparkling edge, the way the real drink does on the tongue. It stays sharp through the load rather than going flat, and the end of the pouch tastes as lively as the start. Sweet, tangy, bright. Fair play to it, it tastes like the drink and not like a guess at the drink.
9mg of nicotine, the Low rung, and the Fizzy Energy cans above
Each pouch holds 9mg of nicotine, medium on our scale, where the band runs from 8mg to 16mg. SNU's four strengths go 9mg Low, 12mg Medium, 18mg High and 45mg Xtra High, and Fizzy Energy is one of the flavours sold on all four, so there is a Fizzy Energy can on every rung. This one is the bottom of that stack. The pouches are slim, 20 to a can, and the flavour is the same at every strength, so the only thing that changes as you climb is the number. Medium snus with a soft drink taste.

Energy drink fans, and the rung above this one
Reach for this if you drink the stuff and want the flavour in a pouch, or if you like your snus sweet and sharp rather than minty. It also suits anyone who wants to try the newest SNU flavour at the gentlest number the brand makes. If you already know you want more behind it, SNU Fizzy Energy 12mg is the next rung up with the same taste, and SNU Fizzy Energy 18mg sits above that. For a different sweet and sharp can at 9mg, SNU Lemon & Lime is next to it on the shelf. Give it a go.
