Snu

Nine flavours. One is mint. SNU is built almost entirely from fruit and fizzy drinks, in a category that opens with menthol and asks questions later. Slim, tobacco free, running from a gentle 9mg to an extra strong 45mg.

The SNU Guide

Introduction To SNU Snus

Look down the SNU range and count the mints. You will get to one. In a category where nearly every brand opens with menthol, keeps a mint at the top of the bestseller list and treats fruit as the side project, SNU has done the opposite and barely blinked. Cherry Cola, Triple Mango, Tropical Punch, Wild Cherry, Watermelon, Grape, Strawberry Kiwi, Lemon and Lime. A corner shop fridge, not a snus catalogue. And that is the point.

SNU is British, made by the people behind Bar Juice, with pouches produced in the EU on Swedish know how. It sits low on the strength scale by design, with a ladder of 9mg, 12mg and 18mg per pouch that the brand labels low, medium and high. Then, on three flavours only, it jumps to 45mg. So the people it suits came for taste first and worked strength out afterwards. Vapers moving across. Fruit drinkers who never got on with the cold. Anyone who finds a mint pouch tastes like a chemist's shop.

At The Snus Life we hold the range deep and keep it turning, because a fruit led brand lives or dies on freshness. A tired mint still tastes like mint. A tired mango tastes like paper. Buy it stale and you have not tried SNU at all. You have tried a can that sat too long.

SNU Snus Strength

SNU prints its ladder in plain words. Low, medium, high. Nine, twelve, eighteen milligrams per pouch. It is one of the few brands that does not dress the numbers up in dots, colours or Nordic mythology, and for a range this fruit heavy that plainness works. You pick a taste, then how hard it hits.

Then there is the fourth rung, where SNU gets awkward with itself. Three flavours, and only three, carry an extra strong 45mg pouch. Nothing sits between 18mg and 45mg. No twenty five, no thirty. You step off a gentle brand straight onto a shelf with the heavy hitters, inside a can of cherry cola.

Most of the range never goes near it. But the option is there, and it catches people out.

Low9mg

SNU 9mg: The Whole Range Starts Here

Every SNU flavour starts at 9mg, which is rarer than it sounds. No flavour is locked behind a strength you cannot handle, so the beginner and the veteran are looking at the same nine cans.

At 9mg the nicotine sits well back. A soft lift over five to ten minutes, then a long plateau that never demands attention. What comes forward instead is the sugar. On SNU Watermelon and SNU Grape that is exactly right.

This is the rung the range was built around. Everything above it is an upgrade, not a correction.

Medium12mg

SNU 12mg: The One Most People Land On

Twelve is where SNU stops being a soft drink with a hint of something and starts behaving like a pouch. The curve steepens, the peak arrives closer to five minutes, and there is enough floor under the flavour that you notice when you take it out.

It is also the rung that survives a working day. Three or four and you are not chasing anything.

High18mg

SNU 18mg: High By SNU Standards Only

Eighteen tops the normal ladder and the brand calls it high. Set it against the rest of our shelf and it is a comfortable mid. Not a criticism. It is the reason SNU works.

At 18mg the fruit gets a spine. SNU Wild Cherry and SNU Lemon and Lime are sharp enough to carry it, where softer flavours turn sweet and hot at once.

For a seasoned user this is a daily pouch, not an event.

SNU 45mg: Three Flavours, No Ladder

Here is the odd one. SNU Cherry Cola, SNU Tropical Punch and SNU Wild Cherry also come at 45mg per pouch, which SNU publishes as 60mg/g. Nothing else does. That trio is the only doorway to 45mg in the SNU range.

That is not a rung. It is a cliff. You go from 18mg to 45mg in one step, no intermediate, inside flavours that taste like they belong at the shallow end. Cherry cola at 45mg is disorientating the first time, because your mouth is telling you one thing and your pulse another.

Note what is not on the list. The extra strong tier is fruit and cola only. Even at the top of its range, SNU will not sell you a mint.

Not run a 30mg pouch comfortably? Do not open with this one.

SNU Nicotine Curve & Real World Feel

SNU is a slow starter, and you should want that from a fruit brand. Uptake runs around five to ten minutes on the 9mg and 12mg, a long way off the one to three minutes you get from a dry, high pH heavy hitter. No lurch. The pouch warms, the flavour arrives well before the nicotine, and the two only meet in the middle of the session.

That gap between taste and effect is the thing to understand here. On a mint pouch the cooling tricks your head into reading the hit as bigger than it is. SNU has almost no mint to lean on, so there is no free amplification. A 12mg SNU feels like 12mg, which sounds obvious until you have spent a year on menthol and forgotten what an honest number feels like.

The 45mg pouches break every line of this. Same slow flavour, completely different curve, arriving hard at four to five minutes once it gets going.

Every spec sheet on this brand says mild. Three cans in the range say otherwise.

SNU Flavours: A Fruit Aisle With One Mint In It

Fruit And Fizzy Drinks

Seven of the nine SNU flavours are straight fruit, and they are not being clever about it. SNU Triple Mango is thick and ripe with a tang that stops it going sickly. SNU Tropical Punch is mango and pineapple, the sweetest thing here by a distance. SNU Grape is dark purple squash, the kind you drank far too much of. SNU Watermelon is the one most brands ruin and this one is fine, more sweet shop than fruit bowl, which is at least a decision. SNU Wild Cherry has a tart edge that makes it the most adult flavour here. SNU Strawberry Kiwi is soft and rounded. SNU Lemon and Lime is the sharp one, and the only pouch that cuts through a coffee.

Flavour holds around twenty to thirty minutes before it thins. Honest, not exceptional.

Mint And Hybrid: The Two Exceptions

SNU Fresh Mint is the entire mint category for this brand. One pouch, clean and gentle and competent, and plainly not where the effort went. Look at what you can actually buy and the point makes itself: Fresh Mint sits at 9mg, SNU's single mint SKU pitched at the softest strength in the range. The only mint in the range is also the lightest thing in it. If mint is your daily driver, this will not change that.

SNU Cherry Cola is the hybrid and the best thing SNU makes. Fizzy, dark and slightly medicinal in the way real cherry cola is, and it holds its shape longer than the pure fruits.

Start here. If Cherry Cola does not land, the range probably will not either.

SNU Popular Flavours

Ten cans at the strength most people actually reach for. The full picture: most flavours run 9mg to 18mg, and three push all the way to 45mg. Every rung below is buyable today. Nine flavours across three tiers, evergreen and kept in rotation at TSL.

SNU Pouch Composition & Comfort

Twenty slim, all white pouches per can, tobacco free, built from pharmaceutical grade nicotine, plant fibre, flavourings and pH adjusters. Standard construction. What matters is the moisture, and SNU sits on the wetter side of average.

That is a flavour decision, not an accident. A fruit profile needs liquid to carry it, and a bone dry pouch would have this range tasting of nothing by minute ten. The cost is drip. SNU produces a fair amount in the first two or three minutes, and because the flavours are sweet, that drip is sweet too. If you find sugary saliva at the back of the throat unpleasant, you will notice.

There is very little bite on the first load. No sting, no burn, just a slow soak. Comfort is good and you can leave a 9mg in for the best part of an hour without your gum complaining.

The can also has a scratch panel that lets you smell the flavour without cracking the seal. Small thing. Actually useful in a range this fruit led.

How To Save Money On SNU Snus

Fruit brands get used faster. A mint pouch is a hit you take when you need one, while a range that tastes like a cold drink gets reached for out of habit, and habit empties a can by Wednesday. So the maths matters more here than on a brand you ration.

Two ways to cut it. Our SNU Bundles let you take a spread of the range at £14.95 rather than single can prices while you work out which fruit you actually live on. Or put SNU on Subscribe and Save and take up to 40% off, which on a brand you go through this quickly is the difference between a treat and a habit you can afford.

How SNU Compares With Other UK Brands

Against Velo the split is clean. Velo runs mint and fruit in parallel and lets you set the level from very light to firm. SNU has decided fruit is the range and mint is a courtesy. If you drink mints, buy Velo. If you never touch them, Velo is carrying half a catalogue you will never open.

Against 77 it is a question of ambition. 77 hunts for flavours nobody else has thought of. SNU is not doing that. It does eight things you recognise from a shop fridge, and does them straight. Familiar, not inventive.

Against Killa and Pablo there is no argument at 9mg to 18mg. Those brands are built to hit. SNU is built to taste.

The verdict: SNU is the range for people who do not like mint. Nobody else has written one.

How To Use SNU Snus

  1. 1

    Load Position

Upper lip, off to one side, flat against the gum. Do not centre it under your top front teeth where it shows every time you talk. SNU pouches are slim, so they hide easily. Push it up and forget it.

  2. 2

    What To Expect

Flavour first, within thirty seconds. The nicotine takes its time and lands around five to ten minutes in on the 9mg and 12mg. If you are used to menthol the first minute will feel like nothing is happening. It is. Give it a moment.

  3. 3

    Session Time

Twenty to thirty minutes is where the flavour lives. After that the sugar fades faster than the nicotine and you are holding a plain pouch. Most people pull SNU earlier than a mint, because there is less reason to keep it in.

  4. 4

Match The Rung To The Flavour

This is the SNU specific bit. The ladder is not level across the range. Every flavour starts at 9mg, but the top of each one differs, and only Cherry Cola, Tropical Punch and Wild Cherry reach 45mg. So if you want extra strong, your flavour is chosen for you. Pick the taste, then check the rung is there.

  5. 5

    Rotate Placement

Move sides every pouch. SNU is wet and sweet, and the same spot taking that all day gets tender in a way a dry pouch never does. Left, right, left. The difference between a good week and a sore one.

Who Is SNU For

You do not like mint. That is the whole qualification, and it is a bigger group than the shelf admits. Menthol has run this category since the start, and plenty of people quietly put up with it because the fruit options were an afterthought with a bad recipe.

SNU is also the easiest brand we carry to hand to someone coming off a fruit vape. The taste is continuous with what they already know. Same mango. Same tropical punch. No cloud, no battery.

And it suits the low ceiling crowd. If 9mg to 12mg is where you are happy, SNU never pushes you upward. There is no pressure in this range.

Come for the fruit. Stay because nothing here is trying to hurt you.

Who Should Avoid It

If you have a real tolerance and mint is your daily, SNU will bore you and then annoy you. That is the honest failure mode, and not the one you expect from a warning box. You do not have a strength problem here, you have a taste problem. Eight sweet fruits and one ordinary mint is not a range, it is a fridge, and by day three the sugar sits on your palate and everything tastes the same. Sweet fatigue is real and this brand triggers it faster than most.

At 18mg you will also top up more often than you would like. Go to Velo for mints up to 17mg with a proper ladder, or Killa if you want the cold and the kick together.

Wrong brand. Nothing wrong with you.

Buying SNU In The UK & From The Snus Life

SNU is British and growing fast, mostly through convenience shelves, which creates the usual problem. A corner shop takes two flavours, always the mint and always the one on the poster, and you never see the range that makes the brand worth buying. Given that the fruit is the point, a shelf holding the mint and nothing else has missed it entirely.

The 45mg pouches make it worse. A small extra strong line on three flavours moves slowly through general trade and turns up in shops almost never. Want SNU Cherry Cola at 45mg? You are buying it online or not at all.

We work closely with suppliers to keep all nine flavours and as much of the ladder as we can get on the shelf and moving. Freshness matters more here than on most brands, because a fruit pouch that has sat six months tastes flat in a way a mint never quite does.

Questions About SNU

How strong is SNU snus?

The main ladder is 9mg, 12mg and 18mg per pouch, which the brand labels low, medium and high. Against the wider shelf that is gentle to mid. Three flavours also reach an extra strong 45mg per pouch, or 60mg/g.

Why does SNU only have one mint flavour?

Because the range was built the other way round. Eight of the nine flavours are fruit and soft drink profiles, with SNU Fresh Mint as the only menthol option. SNU has said publicly that demand for flavours away from mint drove its recent launches.

Which SNU pouches come in 45mg?

Three. SNU Cherry Cola, SNU Tropical Punch and SNU Wild Cherry. No other flavour goes above 18mg, so if you want extra strong, the taste decision is already made for you.

Is SNU good for beginners?

Yes, and one of the better first brands we carry. Every flavour exists at 9mg, so nothing is locked behind a strength you cannot handle, and the slow onset gives you time to notice how it feels.

Does SNU contain tobacco?

No. SNU pouches are all white and tobacco free, made from pharmaceutical grade nicotine, plant fibre, flavourings and pH adjusters. No tobacco leaf, no smoke, no stain on your teeth.

What does SNU taste like?

Like a shop fridge. Cherry cola, mango, tropical punch, grape, watermelon, cherry, strawberry kiwi, lemon and lime. Sweet and recognisable rather than clever, holding around twenty to thirty minutes. SNU Cherry Cola is the one to try first.
