Purple Grape 8mg, the can most people meet first
Real quick, Purple Grape is a flavor with a ladder of its own at Velo, and the 8mg can is the rung most people step on first. It sits in the Lower Strength lineup, the 4mg to 8mg group, and it is that group's fruit can. Velo is BAT's nicotine pouch brand, born in Sweden. The maker's own description is red grapes with a little acidity, and that is exactly how it plays. Grape that tastes like grape, with a little edge so it never turns syrupy. No mint, no chill, no extras.
Dark grape, sweet up front, tart at the end
Crack the lid and it smells like a grape soda from the gas station cooler. In the mouth it runs deeper than that, more dark grape than candy grape, and the touch of sourness the maker mentions shows up right behind the sweetness. The two settle into balance and hold it for the whole pouch. With no cooling in the way, the fruit keeps its warmth and body all the way down the can. It finishes clean and a little tart. No surprises.
8mg here, 4mg below, 14mg and 17mg above
Each pouch carries 8mg of nicotine, which is the low end of our medium band, the stretch from 8mg up to 16mg. Velo's three groups are Lower Strength, 4mg to 8mg, Regular Strength, the 10mg line, and Full Strength, 14mg to 17mg, and Purple Grape shows up in more than one of them. Under this one sits a 4mg can; over it, in Full Strength, sit the 14mg and 17mg cans. The 8mg is the easy middle step. Slim white pouches, 20 per can. Bottom line, this is a flavor you can grow with.

Grape fans, and the road up from 8mg
Grape fans first: anyone who likes fruit pouches and wants a grape that is all grape. New to Velo? It is a solid first fruit. Coming up from the 4mg Purple Grape? This is the step. The best thing about this flavor is what comes next, because the 14mg and 17mg Purple Grape cans use the exact same recipe, just with more nicotine behind it, so you can move up without switching flavors. Want grape with some warmth behind it? Shift Hot Grape, also 8mg, sits right beside it. You're set.
