Dragon fruit with a little heat, Velo Shift style
Real quick, dragon fruit is a rare sight on a pouch shelf, and when it shows up it is usually sweet and tropical. Velo Shift Hot Dragonfruit takes it somewhere else. Shift is Velo's newest lineup. It launched in Sweden, it uses a rounded pouch the maker calls Comfort, it ships in a hexagon can, and every can is 8mg. The maker's description of this one: dragon fruit flavor, a touch of spice, and a balanced heating sensation. Hot on a Shift can means warmth. Fruit, spice, warmth, in that order.
Light pink fruit, then the warmth rolls in
Dragon fruit by itself is mild and a touch tart, somewhere between kiwi and pear, and that is how this opens. Then the spice shows up, a hint and no more, and the warmth builds slowly behind the fruit like a cinnamon candy after the sugar fades. All three settle in together and stay put for the whole pouch. Because the pouch is rounded, it sits easy on the gum, which fits a flavor built on warmth rather than bite. It ends fruity, warm and clean. No surprises.
8mg, same as the rest of Shift
Every pouch carries 8mg of nicotine. Our scale calls that the low end of medium, the band from 8mg up to 16mg. At Velo it sits at the top of Lower Strength, the 4mg to 8mg lineup, with Regular Strength the 10mg line and Full Strength covering 14mg to 17mg above it. Every Shift can is 8mg, so picking inside the line is about flavor, not the number. Instead of slim pouches, Shift uses Velo's rounded Comfort format, 20 per hexagon can. Bottom line, an easy number with an unusual flavor.

Who should pick up Hot Dragonfruit
Who should pick it up? Anyone who likes fruit pouches with some character and wants something past the usual berry and citrus picks. Already on Velo Lime Flame and into the warmth? Same idea here, on a softer, pinker fruit, and 8mg keeps it easy. Want that warmth on a fruit you already know? Shift Hot Peach and Shift Hot Grape carry the same 8mg in that same rounded pouch. Prefer the chill side of Shift? Cool Peppermint. You're set.
