Not every mint wants to be the coldest thing in the room. 77 VB Spearmint is the gentler mint in the brand's special edition, the line 77's maker, Luna Corporate, says it built with Valtteri Bottas, the motorsport star from Finland, under a partnership it dates to 2023. It carries the VB mark and the head in profile on the lid, three dots for the Medium strength, and comes out of the same Polish factory as every other 77. The maker adds a single word of its own, dry, meaning the sugar is kept well back. Spearmint, plain and rounded, in a slim pouch. Here's the thing. It is the mint for people who want fresh rather than frozen.
Soft green mint, dry rather than sweet
The first pouch is the leafy, rounded mint of a stick of spearmint gum, only with the sugar left out, so it reads fresh and a little dry instead of sweet. The cooling is light, more fresh air than frost, and it settles in quickly and stays level across the load. Nothing sharp arrives later, nothing fades early.
