The bright green White Fox can with the little flame on the lid is Peppered Mint, and the name is not decoration. It is peppermint with black pepper, the one White Fox flavour with heat in it. The brand is made in Sweden by Swedish Smokeless, formerly GN Tobacco, and the pouches are tobacco free. The maker says Peppered Mint took months of trying different fragrant oils before it was happy with it. This 8mg can is the top of the Mild line, the second of four Peppered Mint strengths on our shelf.
Peppermint first, then the pepper turns up
It starts as a clean peppermint, cool and sharp, and then the black pepper arrives a beat later and warms the whole thing up. Picture the pepper grinder going over a bowl of chips at the pub, that same dry tickle at the back of the throat, only sitting on a cold mint. The two run together for the whole pouch, cool on top and warm underneath, and the finish is clean with a last touch of spice. It is the mint for people who find plain mint a bit polite.
