Layered fruit pouches either work or they become a mess. There is usually no middle ground. One flavour takes over, the others get buried, and the can ends up sounding better than it tastes. Blueberry Peach Ice avoids that problem for the most part, but not perfectly.
Blueberry Notes
Blueberry is the main event here. It is sweet, punchy, and slightly tangy on the initial load. It leans more toward a modern artificial blueberry than a deep natural fruit, but that is not necessarily a criticism. In this kind of pouch, that brighter flavouring actually helps it cut through clearly.
The strongest flavour burst comes early. That is standard for this type of pouch. After the first few minutes, the blueberry settles into something softer, but it still remains the dominant note throughout.
Peach Sweetness
Peach does not dominate this pouch, but it does improve it. Rather than fighting with the blueberry, it rounds it out. You get more of the peach once the first hit of blueberry calms down, and that is when the pouch becomes more interesting.
In truth, I would have liked a touch more peach. The name suggests more balance than you actually get. Still, what is there works. It softens the sharper edge of the blueberry and stops the flavour profile feeling too one dimensional.
Ice Effect
The ice is measured, which was the right decision. It lifts the pouch and keeps the fruit from becoming too syrupy, but it does not hijack the whole thing. That is where a lot of fruit ice pouches go wrong. They confuse cold with quality and end up tasting like a freezer bag with a bit of flavouring thrown at it.
This one keeps the cooling under control. You feel it, but it stays in support.
